Catering Assistant

About the Role

Casual Catering Assistant to join Spotless team at the Brisbane Immigration Detention Centre. You will assist with the preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals, while helping maintain a safe and efficient catering environment and contributing to the overall wellbeing of those within the centre.

What you’ll do

• Assemble, prepare, and produce food requirements as directed by the Chef Manager/Head Chef.
• Cleaning the food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with the HACCP Food Safety Plan, monitoring food safety standards and practices, maintaining hygiene in food preparation areas, and completing all Food Safety Documentation accurately and timely.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated following safe work procedures, maintained in a clean and safe condition.

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment
• Bulk cooking experience similar to aged care or resources backgrounds
• Has a Certificate II Kitchen Operations or willing to undertake this course
• Food Safety Certificates
• Full understanding of HACCP Food Safety guidelines
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
