About the Role
Civmec is expanding across Australia’s East Coast and the Northern Territory and is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Specialist to support this growth.
In this role, you will identify and develop opportunities, build strong client and partner relationships, and position Civmec to secure major projects across the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors, contributing directly to the future pipeline.
Relocation assistance, flexible working arrangements, and part-time options are available for the right candidate. While the role is ideally based in Tomago, NSW, applications are also welcome from candidates in Sydney, the Northern Territory, and Queensland.
The Role
- Develop Civmec’s business plan and overall growth strategy, including market assessment and positioning
- Analyse market sectors and clients to identify growth opportunities, key accounts, and strategic partners aligned with risk appetite and capacity
- Identify, qualify, and develop new project opportunities across Maintenance and Construction
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, EPCMs, asset owners, and key industry partners
- Lead opportunity identification, selection, and positioning, including CRM pipeline management, competitor analysis, and value proposition development
- Drive bid strategy, capture planning, and pursuit activities for major tenders
- Have involvement across bid leadership and win strategy development
- Deliver market intelligence, competitor insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align capability, capacity, and commercial strategy with pipeline opportunities
- Support client and partner engagement activities to accelerate sales, enhance market presence, and strengthen positioning
- Represent Civmec at client engagements and industry events or forums where required.
About You / Requirements
You’re a seasoned BD professional with a strong network and proven track record in winning work for major contractors. You understand the project lifecycle, from early engagement through to award, and you thrive in a role where strategy, relationships, and commercial insight intersect.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience in BD, capture, or strategic pursuit roles within construction, maintenance, or heavy industry.
- Strong networks across the East Coast and/or NT.
- Demonstrated success in securing major contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- A proactive, opportunity‑driven mindset.
