Building & Maintenance Supervisor

Pearl Recruitment Group

Perth, WA
Office
$140000 yearly

Job Description

21st October, 2026

Our client is a highly regarded, privately owned organisation with a diverse portfolio of premium assets across WA, including residential and commercial properties, marine infrastructure and unique regional locations. Due to continued growth across the business, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Building & Maintenance Supervisor within the business.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced supervisor, maintenance professional or experienced carpenter who enjoys being hands-on but is looking for more variety, autonomy and ownership. One week you could be coordinating works across a premium Perth property, the next overseeing maintenance or refurbishment at a commercial asset, with occasional travel to unique and beautiful locations between Margaret River and Exmouth.

Building & Maintenance Supervisor

  • Salary circa $140,000–$160,000 package + vehicle
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Perth-based works | North Fremantle office area
  • Occasional regional WA travel

About the role

Rather than overseeing the same type of work day after day, you’ll be trusted to assess what needs doing, find the solution and see it through. Working within a small team, you’ll lead by example, manage your own workload and take ownership of projects from start to finish. Your role will include:

  • Scope works and prepare practical estimates for labour, materials, equipment and contractors.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, specialist trades, suppliers and deliveries.
  • Undertake hands-on building and maintenance works where required.
  • Plan day-to-day workloads, priorities and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Organise materials and resources ahead of regional works and mobilisations.
  • Monitor workmanship, safety, costs and project progress.
  • Track expenditure against approved budgets and flag variations or cost concerns.
  • Maintain clear records of quotations, orders, invoices, warranties and completed works.
  • Keep photographic records and document maintenance requirements and outstanding actions.
  • Provide concise progress updates to management and escalate issues when required.
  • Ensure works are properly completed, closed out and recorded.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Trade qualification in Carpentry (or a similar building-related trade), with proven hands-on experience across general building, maintenance, repairs and refurbishment. Experience across marine, coastal, waterfront or remote facilities is highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in a Supervisor or Manager role, leading a small team, managing multiple jobs at once and coordinating subcontractors, trades and suppliers.
  • Strong problem-solving and people skills, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities and use initiative.
  • Professional and trustworthy, with a respectful approach when working across private properties and sensitive environments.
  • Current driver's licence, unrestricted Australian working rights and willingness to occasionally travel throughout WA with notice provided.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment, and provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
  • Current WA Building Practitioner registration is highly regarded.

Why you should apply

This is a great opportunity to join a company that genuinely trusts its people, values collaboration and rewards hard work. You’ll work closely with a small, experienced team, be given real ownership of your role and have the chance to work across some genuinely impressive properties and beautiful parts of WA.

  • $140,000–$160,000 package inclusive of super + company vehicle.
  • Work for a highly regarded, privately owned organisation that genuinely recognises and rewards its people.
  • Be trusted to manage your work with a high level of independence, while still having the support of a collaborative team.
  • Gain exposure to premium properties, unique assets and some of WA’s most impressive locations.
  • Occasional regional travel, with time in lieu provided for working-away requirements.
  • Genuine long-term progression and the opportunity to become a key part of the business.
