Komatsu Forklift Australia is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to join our Newcastle branch in Tomago. You’ll lead the day-to-day workshop operation, supporting our technicians to deliver safe, high-quality repairs and maintenance while ensuring our customers receive the service they expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll stay connected to the workshop while taking greater ownership of people, workflow and customer outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and coordinating technicians and workshop personnel across their day-to-day activities.
• Planning and prioritising workshop jobs to keep work moving efficiently.
• Providing technical support and guidance when the team needs it.
• Ensuring servicing, maintenance and repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Reviewing and authorising workshop quotations.
• Working directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver strong service outcomes.
• Coordinating labour requirements with other areas of the business.
• Monitoring workshop performance, productivity and profitability.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance across the operation.

About You

You know your way around a workshop and have the technical credibility to support a team, but you’re equally comfortable organising work, dealing with customers and helping technicians perform at their best.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• A relevant mechanical trade background, ideally within forklifts, material handling, automotive, plant or heavy equipment.
• Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior technician, or the capability and ambition to step into leadership.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical knowledge.
• The ability to coordinate competing workshop priorities.
• A genuine commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A practical, approachable leadership style.
• The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of workshop outcomes
