• $51.49 per hour + super (base rate + penalties)
• Monday to Friday | Approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Saturday | 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Monday to Saturday roster
• Overtime available
• Penalties apply after 7.6 hours Monday to Friday
• Temp-to-perm opportunity | 36 months with WorkPac

About Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of environmental and waste management services, committed to delivering safe and efficient operational solutions. They are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand to support the daily operations of their waste recovery and product destruction facilities.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a sound understanding of workplace safety and the ability to coordinate teams while supporting the Site Supervisor to maintain productive and efficient operations.

What You Will Be Doing

The successful candidate will help oversee daily site activities, coordinate operational tasks and support communication between site employees and the Site Supervisor. You may also be required to assist with supervisory duties when the Site Supervisor is absent.

Duties include:

• Acting as a key point of contact between site employees and the Site Supervisor
• Coordinating daily job tasks and ensuring operational activities run efficiently
• Reporting faults and issues relating to mobile and fixed plant, including loaders, balers, product destruction units, excavators and forklifts
• Monitoring team performance and ensuring tasks are completed to the required standard
• Assisting the Site Supervisor with forecasting, productivity, maintenance, transport and logistics
• Providing training, guidance and ongoing support to employees
• Ensuring employees follow workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
• Promoting safe work practices and compliance with site procedures
• Maintaining positive working relationships across the team
• Troubleshooting operational issues and assisting with problem-solving
• Working with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of professionalism and productivity

What You Will Need

• Current Australian driver's licence (Class C)
• Current Forklift Licence (High Risk Work Licence)
• Front End Loader ticket, or willingness to obtain one
• Material Handler ticket, or willingness to obtain one
• Working at Heights ticket, or willingness to obtain one
• EWP ticket, or willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience in a leading hand, team leader or supervisory role highly regarded
• Strong communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
• Ability to coordinate workloads and manage competing priorities
• Sound understanding of workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High level of motivation, enthusiasm and work ethic
• Physically fit and capable of performing the requirements of the role
• Ability to work independently and support the Site Supervisor when required
• Reliable work ethic and commitment to consistent attendance
