Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. To be eligible for this position, you will need to be able to provide a copy of the following items:
- Academic transcript (or evidence of discipline of study, approval from your University etc.)
- A current resume and covering letter outlining the position you are applying for; (if you are being referred by a current MMO employee, please include their details in your application)
- Proof of your right to work in Australia e.g. a copy of your Passport, Visa or Birth Certificate
- Valid photo identification e.g. Drivers Licence/Learner Permit/Proof of Age Card)
If you are successful in gaining a vacation placement, you will also be required to obtain and provide a copy of your University’s insurance statements.
About the role
Vacation students will be offered a casual contract and placements will commence in November 2026 through to February 2027.
MMO have hosted vacation students onsite in a variety of fields over a number of years and since completing their placement, a number of students have been successful in gaining full time employment with Murrin Murrin Operations once they have completed their studies.
What to expect:
- Get hands on experience working in our processing plant and or mining environment and get a taste for Mining FIFO life
- Apply your theoretical knowledge into day-to-day tasks, supporting your team to meet objectives and undertaking project-based work when required
- Be exposed to the day-to-day duties of people working in your field and see the different types of opportunities and specialist areas that your career could progress through
