The Opportunity
Join some of the leading underground gold mining operations across Western Australia and South Australia.
We are seeking experienced Underground Heavy-Duty Fitters to support major mining operations, with excellent opportunities for long-term employment, competitive rates, and FIFO rosters designed to suit your lifestyle.
FIFO Rosters Available
- Interstate FIFO to WA sites
- 8:6 and 2:2 rosters available
- Flights available from all major Australian cities
The Role
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on underground mining equipment.
- Carrying out scheduled servicing, inspections, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
- Maintaining and repairing underground mobile plant including:
- Underground trucks
- Loaders and boggers
- Jumbos and drilling equipment
- Long hole equipment
- Normet equipment
- Sandvik equipment
- Caterpillar equipment
- Volvo equipment
- Light vehicles and support machinery
- Strip, rebuild, and replace major equipment components.
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical information to efficiently identify and rectify faults.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is completed safely and to site standards.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance teams to complete complex repairs in an underground environment.
About You
- Australian recognised Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Proven underground mining experience working on heavy mobile equipment
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Experience using diagnostic tools and reading technical manuals/schematics
- Ability to work safely under pressure in a fast-paced mining environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Current manual driver's licence
- National Police Clearance (site requirements apply)
