MPI Recruitment

Perth, WA
FIFO
8/6

Job Description

The first few years underground can shape the rest of your geology career. This opportunity offers the technical exposure, mentoring and operational experience to build a strong foundation.

About the Role

Working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, you'll join a large and well-resourced geology team supporting a high-performing underground gold operation. Reporting to a Senior Geologist, you'll gain exposure to grade control, production geology, underground drilling and geological interpretation while building the practical experience needed to advance your career.

The operation continues to invest heavily in development and resource growth, providing a steady stream of geological work and opportunities to strengthen your technical skills. You'll work closely with mining, survey and engineering teams, contributing information that directly supports production decisions and mine planning outcomes.

This is a position for someone who enjoys being underground, understanding how an orebody behaves and translating geological information into practical mining outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out grade control activities.
  • Complete production reporting.
  • Undertake geological mapping and interpretation.
  • Complete reconciliation work.
  • Supervise underground diamond drilling programmes.
  • Collaborate across site to ensure geological information is accurate, timely and actionable.

What's on Offer

  • Private health insurance.
  • Additional annual leave.
  • Salary packaging options.
  • Share plans.
  • Parental leave benefits.
  • Support from experienced geologists.
  • Exposure to a broad range of underground geology activities.
  • Clear opportunities for long-term development and progression into more senior technical and leadership positions.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree qualification in Geology.
  • 1–2 years' underground mining experience, ideally in gold.
  • Exposure to Leapfrog, Datamine or similar software.
  • Sound understanding of QA/QC principles and geological data quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within operational teams.
  • Current WA manual driver's licence.
  • Australian working rights.

If you're looking for a role where you'll be supported by experienced geologists, exposed to a broad range of underground geology activities and given clear opportunities for long-term development, we'd welcome a confidential discussion.
