We're currently seeking experienced Tyre Fitters to join our maintenance team at the Carmichael Mine in Central Queensland. This is a permanent FIFO opportunity supporting a large fleet of mining equipment on a long-term operation, with an even-time roster, excellent camp facilities and a strong team culture.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Tyre Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the safe inspection, repair and maintenance of tyres and wheel assemblies across our heavy mining fleet. Working within a collaborative maintenance team, you'll play an important role in maximising equipment availability while maintaining MacKellar's high safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Removing, fitting and repairing OTR tyres on heavy mobile equipment
• Inspecting tyres and monitoring condition to maximise service life
• Carrying out wheel and rim assembly activities in line with site procedures
• Maintaining tyre pressures and recording tyre performance data
• Operating support equipment required for tyre maintenance tasks
• Working closely with maintenance personnel to minimise equipment downtime
• Maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all site procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have previous experience working with OTR tyres in a mining or heavy earthmoving environment and take pride in delivering safe, quality work.
You'll also bring:

• Demonstrated experience fitting OTR or mining tyres
• AURKTJ011 – Remove, inspect and fit OTR tyres
• AURKTJ012 – Carry out wheel and rim assembly activities
• RIIMPO208F – Operate support equipment
• RIISAM202E – Isolate and access plant
• RIISAM301F – Test operational functions of equipment
• Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, or the ability to obtain them
• A strong commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively within a team
