Trainer & Assessor

We are currently seeking an experienced Trainer Assessor to join a major mining operation in Karratha on a 2/1 roster for an initial 6-month contract.

This role will suit an experienced mining Trainer Assessor who is confident delivering competency-based training and assessments within an operational site environment.

The Opportunity

Working closely with site leadership and operational teams, you will be responsible for delivering training and competency assessments to ensure personnel are appropriately trained, assessed and compliant with site requirements.

You will support the ongoing development of workforce capability while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver site-based training and competency assessments
• Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments as required
• Assess personnel against relevant operational and site competency requirements
• Maintain accurate training and assessment records
• Support onboarding, inductions and workforce competency requirements
• Identify training gaps and provide appropriate coaching and development
• Ensure training activities comply with site procedures and safety requirements
• Work closely with supervisors and operational teams to coordinate training activities
• Promote a strong safety and continuous improvement culture
• Maintain training documentation and compliance records

About You

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) - Essential
• HR-A Driver's Licence - Essential
• Previous Trainer Assessor experience within mining, resources or heavy industry
• Strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment
• Confident delivering both practical and theory-based training
• Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
• Ability to work effectively within an operational site environment
• Forklift Licence
• High Risk Work Licence
• Full Australian working rights
• Clean Shaven (Fit Test Required)
