Reporting to the Product Management and Sales Support Manager and indirectly to the Construction Product and Aftermarket Manager, the Technology Application Specialist, will join our Construction Industry Product and After Market Team, at our Perth Deport, on a permanent full-time basis. As our Technology Application Specialist, you'll be the subject matter expert for Caterpillar's industry-leading construction technologies, including Safety E-Fence systems, Grade Control, connectivity solutions, and advanced 2D/3D machine guidance platforms.
Working closely with customers, you'll help drive technology adoption, improve job site performance and unlock measurable productivity gains through expert application support, training and consultation. Combining technical expertise with strong customer engagement skills, you'll lead technology deployments, validate solutions in the field, support change management initiatives and provide strategic recommendations that maximise equipment efficiency and business outcomes.

Department Overview: Our Perth Branch offers the opportunity to join us in redefining excellence in construction and mining. Our CI Customer Service and Logistics, New Construction Machines, and Aftermarket Services ensure satisfaction and seamless support.
Roster – 5Days, 8.5 Hrs/Day (inc meal break)
What You'll Do:
- Provide Technology SME Support - Act as the subject matter expert for all Caterpillar construction technologies, advising customers and internal teams on application, capabilities and best practices.
- Deploy and Commission Technology Solutions - Configure, activate and validate machine technology systems before delivery and ensure successful implementation at customer sites.
- Drive Customer Adoption and Training - Coordinate and deliver machine familiarisation, technology training and application support to maximise customer utilisation and productivity gains.
- Lead Product Trials and Solution Validation - Execute field trials, validate performance outcomes and support customers through operational change while demonstrating technology value.
- Deliver Connectivity and Productivity Consulting - Advise customers on fleet monitoring, machine data, connectivity solutions and productivity opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Support Product Strategy and Business Growth - Contribute to new product introductions, market research, technology assessments and identification of opportunities to grow technology sales and service agreements.
Skills & Experience:
- Construction Technology Expertise
Deep understanding of Caterpillar construction technologies including Grade Control, 2D/3D machine guidance, E-Fence, productivity tools, connectivity solutions, GPS and survey systems. - Technical Troubleshooting & Systems Integration
Ability to diagnose issues, integrate machine technology solutions, and support networking, radio communications, fleet monitoring and onboard machine systems. - Customer Training & Change Management
Capability to educate operators, site teams and decision-makers, driving technology adoption and helping customers successfully change work practices. - Consultative Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Strong interpersonal skills to influence and advise customers, sales teams, operations personnel, Caterpillar representatives and third-party suppliers. - Business Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Ability to analyse site operations, identify productivity opportunities, map processes, validate outcomes and recommend improvements based on data and observations. - Planning, Project Coordination & Organisation
Ability to manage multiple customer deployments, machine activations, trials, training activities and product validation projects while meeting competing deadlines.
