The Opportunity

As a Mobile Plant Mechanic / HD Fitter, you will represent Komatsu in the field, working closely with customers and their maintenance teams to diagnose, maintain and repair equipment.

Based in Emerald, this is a hands-on role where your mechanical skills and fault-finding ability will be put to use across a range of equipment and customer requirements.

We are open to technicians from a range of mechanical backgrounds. Experience working on trucks, trailers or similar equipment will be highly regarded, with strong hydraulics and pneumatics experience essential.

You will provide technical advice, troubleshoot equipment issues and complete maintenance and repair work while ensuring jobs are carried out safely and to Komatsu standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair Komatsu equipment in a field service environment
• Work alongside customer technicians to provide technical advice, support and practical solutions
• Complete diagnostic testing and accurately record test results and machine specifications
• Identify and escalate machine or work-related issues where required
• Maintain high standards of safety and comply with Komatsu Golden Rules and site requirements
• Build strong working relationships with customers and their maintenance teams
• Complete required service, warranty and job documentation within required timeframes
• Maintain required site tickets and inductions
• Continue developing technical capability through training and Komatsu Certified Technician programs

Roster: 7:7 Roster, predominately days with occasional nights.
Annualised Wages: Highly competitive annualised salary + super + tool of trade + overtime.
*(Additional to the above, is a $200 per week resident allowance for employee’s located/residing in the Emerald)***Role Located:**Emerald, QLD

What we are looking for

• Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical, heavy vehicle, mobile plant or similar trade
• Strong mechanical experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience working on trucks, trailers or heavy mobile equipment or similar machinery
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer service
• Ability to work effectively alongside customer technicians and site teams
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accurate job documentation
