Job Description

The opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Welding Boilermaker Supervisor to join our Industrial & Energy team on Barrow Island.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the replacement of key wastewater treatment assets before transitioning into a major corrosion remediation program. Working closely with Chevron and project stakeholders, you'll provide technical leadership to welding crews while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

What you'll do

  • Supervise welding activities across tank replacement and corrosion remediation works
  • Ensure all welding complies with approved WPSs, project specifications and applicable standards
  • Coordinate weld inspections, NDT activities and quality documentation
  • Monitor welding productivity, quality performance and project progress
  • Lead and mentor welding crews, providing technical guidance and support
  • Maintain weld traceability and inspection records
  • Participate in daily, weekly and project progress meetings
  • Champion Downer's Zero Harm culture and safe execution of all hot works

What we're looking for

  • Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker/Fabricator
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in heavy industrial, mining, energy, infrastructure or oil & gas projects
  • Proven experience supervising coded welding activities
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures, weld quality and inspection requirements
  • Experience coordinating NDT programs and welding documentation
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, weld maps and specifications
  • Construction White Card, Driver's Licence and Working at Heights ticket
  • AS 2214 / WTIA Welding Supervisor Certification is essential
  • Confined Space, Gas Test Atmospheres and Welding Inspector qualifications highly regarded
