Supervisor - Purchasing

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to lead and mentor a team of Purchasing Officers in delivering efficient, compliant, and value-driven procurement outcomes.

About the role

This role plays a critical part in ensuring end-to-end purchasing activities support operations across Australia and Indonesia, while driving cost optimisation, supplier performance, and continuous improvement and the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Supervise, mentor, and support Purchasing Officers (Australian and Off-Shore) to ensure consistent, compliant procurement practices
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct
• Ensure full compliance with Supply Procedures and Procurement Policies
• Drive efficient procurement outcomes, delivering the lowest practical total cost of ownership\
• Promote and maximise use of preferred and contracted suppliers
• Manage requisitions, purchase orders, invoicing, approvals, and expediting activities
• Oversee freight and supply chain coordination to ensure on-time delivery to sites
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with operations, finance, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Support and promote automation initiatives and continuous improvement across procurement systems
• Coordinate team workloads, leave, and coverage to meet business requirements
• Ensure accurate reporting, supplier data integrity, and catalogue pricing maintenance

About you

To excel in this role, ideally you will bring

• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and influence a procurement team
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost control and value creation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Sound negotiation and conflict-resolution capability
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain leadership roles
• Solid experience within mining and/or construction environments
• Hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems including SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Mainpac, Dynamics AX.
