Tanami is one of Australia's most remote and significant underground gold mines, located deep in the Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory. Your Contribution
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you'll lead a mechanical maintenance team to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality maintenance outcomes across critical fixed plant and shaft infrastructure systems. You'll play a key role in maintaining operational performance while developing your team and driving continuous improvement.
As part of our team, you will
- Lead safe and efficient mechanical maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
- Coordinate maintenance, servicing, and repair work while providing clear direction and support to the team.
- Conduct work inspections to verify quality standards and critical safety controls.
- Develop, coach, and support team members while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and disciplined work management practices.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Mechanical Trade Qualification or Mechanical Engineering degree, with a current driver's licence.
- Experience supervising fixed plant maintenance teams supporting shaft infrastructure, winders, crushers, and conveyor systems.
- Strong knowledge of shaft infrastructure, mine hoisting systems, and reliability practices for Koepe and drum winders.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable for safe performance.
- Experience using maintenance management systems such as SAP, including planning, scheduling, and KPI reporting.
Your Work Environment
- Site-based role at Tanami Operations in the Northern Territory.
- FIFO roster: 8 days on / 6 days off.
- Daily collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and project stakeholders.
- Approved points of hire: Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth, and Brisbane.
