About the Role
The role summary: Civmec is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a 2:1 FIFO roster at Fortescue’s Eliwana and Flying Fish mine sites, supporting the delivery of major electrical infrastructure as part of FMG’s decarbonisation program. This role offers the opportunity to lead crews on a high‑profile project driving the future of low‑carbon mining in Western Australia.
You’ll oversee electrical works across multiple locations, including the installation of LME and SME electric charging facilities, civil and trenching works, transportable pit substations, and in‑pit electrical infrastructure supporting electric excavators, drills, and mobile assets.
The Role
The responsibilities include:
- Supervise electrical crews to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all works
- Lead daily pre‑starts, toolbox talks, hazard identification, and risk assessments
- Ensure adherence to HSE requirements, project safety plans, and statutory obligations
- Plan and forecast labour, materials, equipment, and construction sequencing
- Monitor productivity, schedule progress, and budget performance
- Complete daily reporting including timesheets, diaries, progress updates, and lookaheads
- Maintain quality standards through inspections, ITP compliance, and field documentation
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, HSE, and client teams to resolve technical queries
- Support a positive team culture and effective communication across all work groups
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- WA Electrical Workers Licence
- WA Nominees Course + S26
- White Card
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical supervision within mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Strong planning, leadership, and communication skills
