About the Company
Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.
This is a site-based role at Tanami Operations in the Northern Territory, working in a challenging remote environment. You will interface daily with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and project stakeholders.
The role involves a FIFO schedule with 14/14 or 8/6 opportunities available. Approved departure locations for the point of hire are Darwin, Alice Springs, Perth, and Brisbane.

About the Role
As an Electrical Supervisor, you’ll take the lead in guiding a hardworking crew and keeping our operation running smoothly every day. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’re out in the field with your team solving problems, making decisions, and setting the standard for safe, reliable, high‑quality work. Key Responsibilities
- Leading the electrical maintenance team to keep electrical systems & equipment operating reliably, safe and operating at the highest availability through coordinating preventative and predictive maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Maintaining a strong safety culture through audits, risk assessments and full compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Performing regular work inspections to ensure a high quality level of work is being completed & safety critical controls are verified.
- Working with contractors, procurement and operations to support timely repairs and ensuring parts and equipment are available when needed.
- Mentoring and supporting the team by allocating work, providing feedback, recognising good performance and maintaining a positive work environment.
Capabilities Required
- Electrical trade qualification with an NT electrical licence & a valid driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated experience with supervising a fixed plant maintenance team & proven experience with shaft infrastructure, winder systems, koepe & double drum winders, crushers & conveyors.
- Advanced knowledge in work management systems (SAP), planning and scheduling, data recording and reporting
- Strong safety mindset with applied knowledge of risk management, electrical safety protocols, and the ability to make sound, practical decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confident communicator who can build positive relationships with direct reports and leaders, ability to manage conflict resolution and build team culture.
