Job Description
Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking experienced Superintendent – Marine Operations to join our Port & Marine Operations team on 22 days on 20 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Manager – Operations, the role is responsible for ensuring that all vessels operate in compliance with the company’s Safety Management System and the respective marine regulations. This role is also responsible for ensuring each vessel and crew meet the operational requirements of the Port.
Key responsibilities
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC, ISPS, ISM Code, Flag/Port State Marine Orders, NSCV, Classification Society rules and regulations, HSE policies and procedures for the marine assets
- Foster implementation of the CPPC Safety Management System for all marine assets
- Advise and mentor the CPPC team on compliance in the marine regulatory environment and CPPC Safety Management System to ensure effective management of marine assets
Successful applicant will have:
- Current or former senior position Master Mariner/Chief Officer or Chief/Second Engineer exp. (Class 1/Class 2)
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the marine industry
- Minimum of 5 years in a management/supervisory role in the marine industry
- Post Graduate qualification in the Marine Field – desirable
- Company/Ship Security Officer – desirable
- Internal Audit Qualification - desirable
- Commitment to ensure the Marine Fleet operate in compliance with all Marine Rules and Regulations while meeting Company operational requirements.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety & environment
- A current Drivers Licence
- Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
