ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster.Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. 

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

As the Superintendent EMAI, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future performance of Worsley's electrical and instrumentation assets. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will drive reliability, maintenance optimisation, asset integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, plant availability, and operational performance. The portfolio encompasses the refinery's High Voltage and Medium Voltage networks, Power Distribution infrastructure, Energy Generation assets, and Instrumentation and Control systems, making this one of the most influential technical leadership roles within the operation.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Lead defect elimination, reliability improvement and maintenance optimisation initiatives across electrical assets.
  • Oversee maintenance quality assurance processes, ensuring effective work management, data integrity and governance.
  • Manage electrical infrastructure performance, compliance obligations and risk controls across the operation.
  • Develop technical scopes, support contract management and contribute to budgeting, planning and asset investment decisions.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Leading maintenance, reliability or asset management teams within heavy industry, manufacturing, resources or processing environments.
  • Building collaborative relationships across multiple functions to deliver shared operational outcomes.
  • Influencing positive safety, inclusion and continuous improvement cultures.
  • Using data, performance metrics and business insights to support decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing teams while fostering accountability and engagement.
  • Managing competing priorities, complex stakeholder relationships and organisational change in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor of Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering Degree or Cert III Trade with Diploma in Relevant Electrical Technical Field
  • Holds a Schedule 26 Appointment
