The Opportunity:

Located 740km northeast of Perth and 20km from Laverton, Granny Smith is a well-established underground gold operation, owner-operated by Gold Fields since 2013. Producing over 250,000 ounces per annum, the site has operated for more than 30 years and boasts a mine life exceeding 10 years.

In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage the mining maintenance teams responsible for Granny Smith’s mobile fleet and associated mining fixed plant infrastructure. You will drive equipment reliability and performance, ensuring key targets are achieved within budget, while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This position is offered on a FIFO basis from Perth, with flexibility required to work either an 8/6 or 8/6 4/3 roster.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the mining maintenance department to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient operational outcomes.
  • Oversee maintenance of the mobile fleet and fixed plant infrastructure, ensuring equipment availability, reliability, and cost performance targets are achieved.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with operational and asset management requirements.
  • Manage operational and capital maintenance budgets while driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental requirements, providing technical expertise in asset optimisation and equipment strategies.
  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams while building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • Trade qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline (Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor desirable).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mining maintenance, ideally underground, with the ability to lead, influence, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in asset management, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and underground mobile and fixed plant maintenance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills, with a strong commitment to Safety, Respect, Collaboration, and Responsibility.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, with proficiency in SAP (desirable) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
