Superintendent - Geology
Liontown Resources
Job Description
About the Company
Liontown Limited (ASX: LTR) is an ASX listed company with a focus on battery minerals. We aim to be an ESG leader in the resources sector and a globally significant provider of battery minerals for the rapidly growing clean energy market. We will do this by finding, developing and supplying the battery minerals required by the rapidly growing electric vehicle and energy storage industries.
We control two major lithium deposits in Western Australia and have ambition to grow our portfolio through downstream expansion and exploration acquisitions.
Our flagship Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation is a Tier 1 hard rock lithium asset, recognised for its scale, grade, and longevity. Now ramping up underground production, Kathleen Valley represents one of the most significant new lithium operations globally and is central to Liontown’s long-term growth strategy.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Geology Superintendent to join our expanding geology team at Kathleen Valley. Reporting directly to the Geology Manager, this newly created role leads the geology function, spanning mine geology, project geology, and core yard operations.
This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity between resource models and operational grade control, creation of GC models, communicating technical findings to influence decisions affecting resource definition, mine planning confidence, and mine-to-mill performance across the site. This is a permanent, full-time role based at Kathleen Valley, on an 8:6 FIFO roster ex-Perth.
This is a great opportunity to build your career in a technically rich, low-waste, high-grade underground environment. This is a key role in a growing team at a defining moment for Kathleen Valley and help shape what this operation becomes.

- Drive grade control model development and ore definition (ROM/waste/OSP compliance), including sign-off on block notes and level extraction plans/designs.
- Plan, schedule and validate diamond drilling programmes and execution, including contractor management and QAQC, to maintain resource confidence.
- Own daily, weekly and monthly geology/production reporting and stope inspection/reconciliation against plan; sign off on 3-month schedules (3MS) and month-end accruals.
- Ensure core preservation, sample chain-of-custody and QAQC/data compliance standards across the Geology and Core Yard teams.
- Manage leave and roster coverage for the crew, and drive safety leadership and incident management.
- Uphold and promote strong safety compliance through safe work practices.
About you
- Degree qualified in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience in an underground hard-rock mine geology role, including several years in a senior or supervisory geology capacity.

- Strong leadership and people development capability, with the ability to build capability and confidence across a growing team during a ramp-up phase.
- Sound judgement and decision-making under the pace of a fast-scaling underground operation.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration with Mine Planning, Geotechnical, Processing and Production Engineering teams.
