Reporting to the Director, Environment, you will lead and develop a team of six environmental professionals while driving site environmental performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll influence site strategy, proactively manage environmental risk, and deliver meaningful outcomes across water, waste, biodiversity, tailings and processing. You’ll work closely with site leadership, Projects and Social Performance teams, contributing to major environmental initiatives while building a high-performing, safety-focused team culture.
If you’re looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise with people leadership - and genuinely make an impact - this is it.
As part of our team you will

- Monitor environmental performance and communicate results, incidents and non-compliances to stakeholders
- Prepare and oversee regulatory reporting, submissions and compliance documentation
- Coordinate environmental audits, inspections and compliance monitoring across site systems and infrastructure
- Investigate environmental incidents and non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions
- Provide technical guidance to manage environmental risk and support operational challenges
- Lead specialist studies and manage environmental projects and contractors
- Review technical and regulatory documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance
- Partner closely with Projects and Social Performance teams on environmental matters
- Foster a strong, inclusive and safety-driven team culture aligned with company values
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Demonstrated experience leading environmental management in a mining environment
- Working knowledge across water, waste, air and noise, closure, biodiversity, tailings and gold processing
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and regulatory compliance
- Experience preparing regulatory reports and managing compliance obligations
- Proven people leadership capability, including coaching and performance management
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret environmental data and manage risk
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, site-based environment
Your work environment
This is a full-time, permanent, site-based leadership role supporting a large-scale open pit operation running 365 days per year. The role operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster with village accommodation provided, offering a balanced lifestyle while remaining within driving distance of Perth.
You will play a key role in delivering environmental outcomes aligned with regulatory, business, and community expectations, working collaboratively across site-based technical, operational, and sustainability teams.

- Opportunity to lead and grow a capable, engaged team
