Superintendent

Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experiencedSuperintendent, on a 2/2 roster to oversee and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role will act as the primary point of contact for construction activities on site, with responsibility for coordinating daily operations, managing field crews and subcontractors, monitoring progress, supporting site logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and client requirements.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a highly experienced Superintendent with strong construction, safety, coordination, and leadership capability. You will bring a hands-on approach to managing site activities, supporting teams, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standard.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Extensive construction experience, with the position description noting 12 years of experience
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, and quality control practices
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, resource management, and site logistics
• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, field crews, and multiple construction teams
• Excellent communication, leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities at once
• Valid construction-related certifications and safety training
