About the Role

Play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia's largest gold mining operations. As ourexperienced Structural Engineer, you'll lead the delivery of structural engineering projects that improve safety, reliability and operational performance across site. From major steelwork upgrades and infrastructure improvements to first of their kind site initiatives, you'll see your work make a visible and lasting impact.

Working a lifestyle friendly 5:2/4:3 roster, you'll enjoy the balance of a residential role in West Wyalong, while contributing to significant capital and operational projects that support the long term success of Cowal. Based at our Cowal Operations and reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll:

  • Deliver structural capital and OPEX projects that improve safety, reliability and operational efficiency across site.
  • Turn engineering concepts into practical solutions, developing business cases, designs and improvement initiatives that create lasting value.
  • Lead contractors, consultants and project teams to successfully execute work within scope, budget and schedule.
  • Strengthen capability across the engineering team through technical leadership, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Does this sound like you?

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex engineering problems and delivering practical outcomes.

  • A bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering structural engineering projects from concept through to execution in mining, heavy industry or a similar environment.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and contractor management capability.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect.

Nice to have:

  • National Engineering Registration or eligibility for Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and financial project evaluation.
