SMP Supervisor

About the Role

Breight Group is seeking experienced SMP Supervisors to join our project delivery division. This is a permanent, full-time role offering exposure to a pipeline of SMP projects across multiple contracts. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate all SMP activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards, while guiding and developing your team. This role is perfect for a technically skilled and proactive supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and project excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and control SMP activities on assigned projects.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, health, environmental, design, and quality standards.
• Supervise teams to achieve production and completion targets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational, and scheduling issues.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable work culture.
• Coordinate with Site Management and other supervisors to ensure seamless project delivery.

About You / Requirements

• Tertiary and/or Trade Qualification (mechanical preferred).
• Statutory S26 compliant
• Proven experience in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) construction or commissioning, preferably on mining projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Solid understanding of relevant codes of practice and safety regulations.
• Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and adapt to dynamic project conditions.
• Commitment to safety and a team-first approach.
