About the role

We are looking for a Shotfirer to join our Drill and Blast teams across various Pilbara mine sites, helping to drive productivity and achieve operational targets.

Reporting to the Supervisor of the blast team and working in a challenging and exciting environment as a shotfirer, you will:

  • Conduct housekeeping and compliance within magazines, magazine compounds, explosive vehicles, and work areas.
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
  • Participate in all activities involving the use of explosive products, including maintaining the standards of explosive compounds.
  • Work with the Blast Supervisor and Coordinator to manage blasting activities
  • Use electronic detonators as well as firing units.

About you;

  • Have a commitment to safety—prioritizing the wellbeing of yourself and your team.

  • Hold a valid Australian C Class manual driver’s license or higher.

  • Possess a strong team mindset, with the ability to work safely and flexibly to meet business requirements.

  • Hold a valid Shotfirer’s Ticket (mandatory) and a Dangerous Good License.

  • Have the ability to lead and coordinate a blast crew, ensuring safe and efficient blasting operations.

  • Have experience working with electronic detonators.
