About the Project

Due to continued project success, Redpath is seeking experienced Shaft Electricians to join our Shaft Sinking Maintenance Division on the Appin Project in NSW. This project involves the excavation of two vertical shafts to provide critical mine access and ventilation infrastructure. We are particularly interested in candidates from the South West Sydney region, including Campbelltown and surrounding areas, although FIFO and DIDO options with accommodation may be available for highly experienced shaft sinking personnel.

Candidates with experience in shaft sinking, tunnelling, underground mining, construction, fixed plant, or mobile plant maintenance are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Shaft Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimising shaft sinking infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical, control, and automation systems on site.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures in confined and vertical shaft environments.
• Interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings to determine installation and maintenance requirements.
• Install, maintain, and repair temporary winders and associated systems in accordance with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct statutory testing and inspections in line with AS3000 and relevant legislation.
• Perform routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on shaft winder electrical, control, and automation systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete root cause analysis on control circuits, variable speed drives, and communication networks, including EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation systems, including: Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs PanelView HMIs FactoryTalk View SE/MEStudio 5000 / RSLogix 5000
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance through SCADA and control system diagnostics.
• Support and mentor team members through training, coaching, and performance development.
• Ensure compliance with all Redpath and client SHEQ/WHS policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications / About You

• Electrical Trade Qualification
• HV Switching or High Voltage experience highly regarded
• Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence
• Working Safely at Heights certification
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Experience in underground mining, shaft sinking, tunnelling, heavy industry, or construction environments preferred
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to pass a Pre Employment Medical and National Police Clearance
