About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join a Perth-based engineering team delivering brownfield and greenfield projects across the resources sector.

This role would suit a senior designer who is comfortable working with minimal supervision, producing detailed mechanical designs and layouts, and working closely with engineers and other design disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical layouts, general arrangements and detailed design drawings.
• Develop equipment layouts and associated mechanical designs.
• Work across brownfield modifications and new project scopes.
• Review vendor information and incorporate it into design packages.
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Piping Designers and other disciplines.
• Conduct design reviews and check drawings where required.
• Support projects through study, detailed design and execution phases.
• Work within client, project and drafting standards.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Strong experience as a Senior Mechanical Designer within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects.
• Previous experience working within an engineering consultancy or EPC/EPCM environment.
• A good understanding of mechanical equipment and plant layouts.
• Strong 3D design and drafting capability.
• Experience working on Australian resources projects.
• The ability to work independently and manage design packages through to completion.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
