The M6 Stage 1 is a vital transport initiative designed to transform the southern road network of Sydney. As this landmark development advances through key construction delivery phases, our delivery team is expanding. We are looking for motivated professionals who want to elevate their careers, gain exceptional major project exposure, and play a hands-on role in the successful delivery of this city-shaping infrastructure.

About the role

Plan, organise, lead and control site plant and machinery maintenance operations to comply with the construction programme, ensure high plant availability and achieve safety, cost, time, quality, environmental and community targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Superintendent/Project Manager in developing and monitoring short-term programmes (three-week look-ahead) and forecasts associated with the scope of work.
• Conduct daily pre-start and weekly toolbox meetings for the direct work team to ensure safety is discussed and promoted, and issues are resolved.
• Be responsible for accurate and effective shift handovers as required.
• Assist in training CGU-JV workers and contractors, including induction and ongoing training.
• Ensure Apprentices and Trainees are mentored and supervised in accordance with their prescribed learning outcomes.
• Manage the day-to-day performance and development of employees, including effectively coaching and mentoring them.
• Identify and resolve any IR/ER issues, and escalate serious issues to the Superintendent/Project Manager in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Ensure materials and equipment delivered to site meet quality requirements.
• Ensure any changes to the electrical system are assessed.
• Provide assistance in, or undertake, the investigation of electrical incidents.
• Review and understand all drawings, programmes, project and plant specifications, and sequences of work for the specific scope of work.

About you

• Electrical licence holder.
• Extensive experience in underground civil tunnelling or mining construction electrical networks and systems, both High Voltage and Low Voltage.
• Ability to develop excellent supervisory skills and lead and mentor in a large infrastructure environment.
