Senior Project Manager

UGL’s Energy & Industrial national business unit is experiencing rapid growth, and we need motivated and capable people to join our team. UGL’s in-house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.

As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team.

About the Role

As the Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery from a construction and execution perspective, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive project performance while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all site construction activities to achieve project objectives across safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial and logistics teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage project resources, including workforce planning, subcontractors, plant and equipment.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and performance metrics, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
• Participate in project reviews and provide strategic input into tenders and future opportunities.
• Drive a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all HSE policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop project teams to maximise performance and engagement.
• Ensure effective communication, stakeholder management and collaboration across project teams.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice project delivery methodologies.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 10 years' industry experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams in Gas, Petrochemical, energy, utilities, resources or infrastructure environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, contracts and project controls.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HSEQ requirements and construction industry regulations.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong leadership capability with a track record of coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
