Full Job Description
Breight Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineer ready to take the next step in their career and make a real impact within our growing business.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in our Rivervale office, with occasional travel to project sites as required. You'll join a collaborative, high-performing team where you'll be supported by experienced leaders and passionate professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional outcomes together.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering projects from planning through to completion, helping ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll take on increasing exposure to commercial oversight, contract administration, and project controls, while mentoring and developing those around you. This role is a genuine stepping stone, with the support and mentoring to help you progress into a Project Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Support end-to-end project delivery, contributing to cost, schedule, scope, and resource management.
• Support project mobilisation, planning, and execution across sites.
• Help ensure projects meet safety, quality, and commercial requirements.
• Gain exposure to contract administration, procurement, and subcontractor performance management.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Contribute to structured reporting, governance, and commercial oversight, working closely with key Breight stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of project systems, processes, and frameworks.
• Mentor and guide project teams, developing capability and accountability.

About You:
We are looking for motivated professionals who take pride in their work, enjoy working within teams, and thrive in a multi-project environment. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer on multi-discipline projects in the construction or mining industry.
• Working exposure to project management principles, contract administration, commercial management, or project controls, with a genuine interest in developing further in these areas.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Project, Primavera, Excel, and reporting tools.
• Genuine ambition and drive to progress into a Project Manager role.
