About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of brownfield, sustaining capital and operational improvement projects within a heavy industrial processing environment.
Working across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities, you will manage projects from concept through to handover while ensuring safety, quality, budget and schedule objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project delivery from concept, design and procurement through to commissioning and handover.
- Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, execution plans and project schedules.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, contractor and vendor activities.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, risks and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Support procurement, contract administration and contractor management.
- Drive technical issue resolution and stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitate commissioning, operational readiness and project close-out activities.
Requirements Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years' experience in project engineering, project delivery or construction environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield and capital projects in chemical processing, refining, mineral processing, oil & gas or heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
- Proven ability to manage contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Project Management qualification (AIPM, PMI, PRINCE2 or similar).
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Construction White Card.
- Experience with SAP and project control systems.

Ideal Background
This role is suited to engineers with experience in chemical processing, lithium, oil & gas, refining, mineral processing or other heavy industrial operations who can provide strong technical leadership while delivering projects safely, efficiently and autonomously.
