About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering and construction activities across transport infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment and contributing to complex rail and transport outcomes.

You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and operational leaders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will

  • Lead the planning and delivery of engineering and construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate and stage construction works across both greenfield and brownfield rail environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operational teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Manage construction administration activities, including workforce planning and roster coordination.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, including forecasting future workforce, plant, and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and performance, providing accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Foster positive team engagement and support the development and performance of project personnel.
  • Coordinate construction resource requirements to support current and future project objectives.
  • Contribute to tender submissions, client presentations, and business development activities when required.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with licence conditions and environmental obligations.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

About You

We're interested in people who bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering great outcomes. You may be successful in this role if you have

  • A degree in Engineering or a relevant trade qualification.
  • Cert IV in OHS (desirable).
  • Extensive experience leading electrical construction activities within transport, rail, or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes in fast-paced project environments.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
