Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for Senior Occupational Health Nurse at our Carosue Dam Operations. This is an autonomous site-based position working a roster of 8:6 FIFO ex Perth on a permanent and full-time basis  The primary role is to ensure the health of employees and contractors through; the delivery of professional health and medical services, health promotion, proactive injury management, monitoring of occupational health functions and the delivery of expert advice and assistance on health and medical matters. This opportunity requires the incumbent to be on call 24 hours to respond promptly with all medical emergencies

Here is what awaits you.

  • Provide emergency and non‑emergency medical care and assistance onsite, including on‑call medical advice.
  • Manage onsite medical facilities, assets, and emergency preparedness systems to ensure effective response capability.
  • Review, maintain, and improve medical emergency procedures and response processes.
  • Deliver medical training, including defibrillator use, and coaching to site personnel and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members.
  • Support the H&S Manager with health reporting, data analysis, and compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Assist with interpretation of legislation, standards, and risk management, providing informed input to site leadership.
  • Contribute to OHS projects and initiatives, including occupational health programs, hygiene, and workers’ compensation administration.

To thrive in this role, you will need.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing and/or Bachelor of Paramedical Science or equivalent with remote ED and primary healthcare experience, current AHPRA registration, and a current Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualification.

Experience: Demonstrated experience in first responder or emergency medical care, ideally within the mining industry, including exposure to emergency response situations, rural and/or remote service delivery, and primary health care. Sound clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills, competence in IV cannulation and blood collection, knowledge of injury management and return‑to‑work processes, RFDS and medical evacuation protocols, OHS or hygiene practices, INX systems, and a current WA Manual C Class driver’s licence.
