We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer with underground experience, to join our Northern Operations on an 8/6 FIFO roster.
You will play a critical role in leading the mining engineering team to safely execute the mine plan (design, scheduling, and infrastructure). Leveraging your expertise in drill & blast design and stope design, you will drive safe, efficient, and cost-effective production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage infrastructure projects through planning and execution phases
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly compliance to plan and implement short-term interval control measures
- Implement and monitor mine ventilation strategies in line with WHS (Mining) Regulations 2022, including conducting and communicating ventilation surveys
- Conduct underground inspections and QA/QC to ensure mining activities align with the mine plan and are carried out safely
- Oversee the development and communication of fortnightly mine plans aligned with quarterly plans
- Assist the Senior Mine Planning Engineer with planning outputs as required
- Support the Mining Manager/Alternate with operational, technical, and statutory responsibilities
Skills & Experience
- Advanced proficiency in mining software (Deswik CAD, Deswik UGDB, Ventsim) and Microsoft Office
- Proven experience in drill & blast design, including ring design, firing strategies, and optimisation
- Strong capability in stope design, sequencing, and optimisation to maximise recovery and minimise dilution
- Bachelor of Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
- Current, unrestricted Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence
- First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate (or actively working towards it)
