Senior Mechanical Engineer

Join a well-established engineering team delivering brownfield upgrades, studies, detailed design and site-based engineering solutions across heavy industrial, minerals processing, energy and chemical facilities throughout Central Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys a true "doer-seller" role, combining hands-on technical delivery with client engagement, relationship building and the identification of new project opportunities. You'll work closely with operational sites, see your designs progress into construction and commissioning, and play a key role in the ongoing growth of the regional business.

Role Overview

As a Senior Mechanical / Piping Engineer, you will lead engineering activities from concept through to detailed design and implementation while working directly with clients and stakeholders across multiple operating facilities.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading mechanical and piping engineering deliverables across studies, FEED and detailed design projects
• Preparing and reviewing calculations, specifications, datasheets, reports and scopes of work
• Developing practical brownfield solutions focused on safety, operability, maintainability and cost effectiveness
• Engaging with clients, operations personnel, vendors and multidisciplinary project teams
• Supporting site inspections, technical investigations, construction and commissioning activities
• Managing technical quality, engineering risk, budgets and project delivery commitments
• Mentoring engineers and designers within the broader engineering team

Client Exposure & Commercial Involvement

This role offers strong client exposure and commercial involvement, including:

• Building and maintaining trusted client relationships
• Identifying operational challenges and developing value-adding engineering solutions
• Supporting proposals, estimates and scope development
• Assisting with business development and opportunity identification
• Contributing to pipeline growth and regional project delivery
• Participating in client meetings and technical presentations

About You

To be successful, you will possess:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• RPEQ Registration or eligibility to obtain RPEQ
• Significant experience in mechanical and/or piping engineering within mining, minerals processing, energy, chemicals or heavy industrial environments
• Strong brownfield design and site-based engineering experience
• Experience delivering studies, FEED and detailed design projects
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development activities
• Current Australian working rights and driver's licence
