About the Opportunity
Are you an experienced Health & Safety Advisor looking to take the next step in your career?
We are seeking a motivated safety professional to join our Northern Operations team as a Senior Health & Safety Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong underground mining experience who is ready to progress into a senior role and further develop their leadership, coaching, and operational influence.
Reporting to the Manager Health & Safety, you will work closely with leaders across the operation to drive safety performance, strengthen risk management practices, and foster a proactive safety culture.
About the Role
As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will:
- Provide practical WHS leadership, support and advice to operational teams and site leaders.
- Partner with supervisors and crews to identify hazards and implement effective risk controls.
- Lead and support incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance activities.
- Assist with the maintenance and continuous improvement of site safety management systems.
- Support emergency response, injury management and statutory compliance requirements.
- Analyse safety trends and contribute to initiatives that improve site safety performance.
- Coach and mentor leaders and employees to strengthen safety capability across the operation.
- Support training and competency processes, including inductions, safety training activities, verification of competency programs and maintenance of training records.
About You
You may already be a WHS Advisor looking for greater responsibility, or an experienced safety professional seeking a role with broader influence.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience in a Health & Safety role within an underground mining environment.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management principles and mining safety systems.
- Experience participating in incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and genuine commitment to creating safer workplaces.
- Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent).
- Current WA Class C Driver's Licence.
Desirable
- Statutory Supervisor qualification.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- ICAM Investigation qualification.
- Emergency Response qualifications.
