Senior Grower & Horticulturalist
$100,000 - $120,000 + Super (Pending Experience)
Perth Northeast Suburbs

Our client is a leading and high-quality Western Australian owned native plant nursery that focuses on supplying plants to clients across the state. On average, they have approx. 5 million plants at their nursery in Perth's Northeast Suburbs and are looking to add a Senior Grower & Horticulturalist to their growing team due to ongoing demand.

What will this position entail?
This position will see you responsible for overseeing the health and performance of our clients' plants within their nursery, diagnosing and solving problems and providing leadership to the team.

Day to day job duties will include:

  • Monitoring and maintaining plant health by diagnosing pest, disease, nutrition and environmental issues, implementing effective treatment strategies.
  • Leading plant nutrition and crop management, including planning and adjusting fertiliser programs, managing irrigation schedules and applying chemical treatments.
  • Overseeing cutting propagation by managing propagation schedules, growing environments and a small propagation team (approx.. 2-6 people).
  • Coordinating growing operations, including directing stock movement between growing areas and maintaining accurate plant health, chemical and compliance records.
  • Providing technical leadership by guiding team members on plant health, irrigation and propagation practices to improve plant quality and nursery performance.

How can I be successful?

  • Cert III in Horticulture or relevant industry experience within horticulture.
  • ChemCert Accreditation (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
  • Strong plant health experience with diagnosing pest, disease and nutrient problems & providing solutions.
  • Ability to work across various growing areas and provide leadership where necessary.
  • Full Australian working rights.
