About the Company

We operate two long-life assets: Golden Grove in Western Australia and Capricorn Copper in Queensland, along with a portfolio of exploration interests, including a strategic tenement package and project in Redhill, Chile.
Golden Grove is a high-grade underground mining operation producing copper, zinc, and precious metals. With a mine life exceeding 10 years, it has strong potential for further extension. The site is currently undergoing an expansion, including the development of a new mine, the extension of existing operations, and major infrastructure upgrades.
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Principal Geotechnical Engineer and work on an 8:6 roster.
Your focus will be on applying geotechnical standards to support safe and efficient mining operations, ensuring ground control, safety, and production requirements are balanced.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development and continuous improvement of geotechnical standards, systems, and the Ground Control Management Plan.
- Working with other disciplines collaboratively on mine design; providing geotechnical input into design and sequencing, ground support and risk management.
- Conducting geotechnical analysis and stope reviews using empirical, numerical, and classification methods.
- Monitoring ground conditions, support systems, and seismic activity to manage geotechnical risks.
- Performing risk assessments, inspections, and backfill reviews, with clear guidance on corrective actions.
- Mentoring and leading the Geotechnical team, promoting safety, and leading incident investigations as required.
About You / Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have strong experience in similar roles within open pit and underground environments, including the ability to successfully lead high-performing teams.
- A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, seismicity, ground support, and backfill systems.
- Proven ability to identify, analyse, and resolve rock mechanics issues.
- Experience in geotechnical data collection and processing.
- Technical design expertise with stopes, pillars, and ground support.
- Proficiency in mine design and geotechnical software.
- Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
Qualifications & Certifications
- A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
