About the Role
As an Estimator at Vaughan Constructions, you'll play a key role in developing accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) across a range of projects. You'll analyse design documentation, engage with subcontractors, and assess all cost-related elements throughout the enquiry, tender, and construction phases. Your attention to detail and industry expertise will help deliver cost-effective solutions that reflect Vaughan's high standards in construction.
What you'll do
- Review client design briefs and produce +/-5% budget estimates using Buildsoft
- Manage the full tender process: documentation review, VM opportunities, subcontractor engagement via EstimateOne, trade comparisons and cost summaries
- Develop project clarifications, exclusions lists and risk/opportunity registers for tender review
- Prepare project preliminaries and support contract handover to the construction team
- Assist PMs with subcontract negotiations and variations
- Maintain BOQs, comparison sheets, budget coding and benchmarking data
- Mentor Cadet/Junior Estimators along the way
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Construction or equivalent
- Experience with Global Estimating, Bluebeam and ideally Mudshark for earthworks
- Advanced Excel and Word skills
- Sharp attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confidence liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
- A team-first attitude and high integrity
