Senior Electrical Designer

About the Company

An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join its growing project delivery team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of industrial, energy, resources and infrastructure projects while supporting clients through all phases of project delivery.

Based in Gladstone, or for candidates able to spend several days per week in the local office, you will work closely with engineers, designers and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality electrical design solutions from concept through to construction and commissioning.

About the Role

As an Electrical Designer, you will support the delivery of multiple concurrent projects while working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical design and drafting services in accordance with project requirements, applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop practical and fit-for-purpose design solutions from concept design through to as-built documentation.
• Produce electrical drawings, calculations and supporting technical documentation.
• Participate in project reviews, design workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Identify technical issues and contribute to practical engineering solutions.
• Interface with engineering teams, project stakeholders and distributed delivery centres.
• Support project execution through change management and quality assurance processes.
• Assist with project estimates, schedules, forecasts and technical reporting where required.
• Ensure compliance with design review and checking procedures.
• Contribute to safety-in-design outcomes and risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the adoption of digital engineering and emerging technology tools.

About You

• Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Design or a related discipline.
• Electrical trade background highly regarded.
• Electrical licence advantageous.
• Significant experience in electrical design and drafting within industrial, resources, energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience delivering projects from concept design through construction and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and engineering design practices.
• Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Australian working rights.
