About the Company

Pearl Recruitment are looking for a reliable Rope Splicing Technician for our client, a respected provider of specialised rope, mooring, anchoring and rigging products to the marine, mining and defence industries. Based in Bayswater, this role offers an immediate start and a genuine long-term career opportunity.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work as part of a small team responsible for manufacturing, inspecting and preparing orders for upcoming client projects. Key duties will include:

  • Read job cards, technical information and engineered drawings to confirm production requirements
  • Measure, cut, terminate and splice synthetic rope products (including three-strand, eight-strand, 12-strand and double-braid ropes)
  • Cut and assemble chain, rigging, anchoring and buoyancy products in line with drawings and relevant standards
  • Calculate raw material quantities and prepare the materials required for each job
  • Operate rope-splicing tools, cutting equipment, power tools, capstan winches and commercial sewing machines
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and report any defects or non-conformances
  • Pack completed orders and coordinate incoming and outgoing freight
  • Operate forklift to safely load/unload trucks and move products around the warehouse
  • Complete general warehousing and yard duties to help with labelling and packing of orders to be sent to clients
  • Follow company safety, quality and manufacturing procedures and suggest process improvements
  • Occasionally attend 2–3 day remote site visits for hands-on experience and further skill development (including site uplift responsibilities - total time away around 2 weeks per year)

About You / Requirements

  • Be proactive, motivated and detail-oriented with strong communication skills to work within a team environment
  • Previous experience within a similar rope splicing, rigging, marine operations, manufacturing, warehousing or another relevant hands-on position
  • Hold full unrestricted working rights
  • Have the ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol assessment
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and have reliable transport
  • Forklift licence or rigging licence
  • Previous experience in a workshop, factory, or on-site labouring/construction environment
