Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground Rhino Operators to join our operations at Evolution Mining's Lake Cowal Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term project with a respected mining contractor while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of underground mine development activities.

About the Role

As a Rhino Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground raise drilling equipment, supporting ventilation, ore pass and service infrastructure development while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Rhino raise drill equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete slot raises, ventilation raises and service raises to plan specifications
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks
• Monitor drilling performance and maintain drilling accuracy
• Identify and rectify minor equipment issues where appropriate
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with site safety standards and procedures
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers and underground mining crews
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects
• Maintain high housekeeping and operational standards underground

About You / Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous underground mining experience operating Rhino raise drills or similar raiseboring equipment
• Strong understanding of underground mine development and raise drilling practices
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment
• Relevant mining competencies, licences and tickets
• Current Australian work rights
• Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
