About the Role

Reporting to the Prevention Supervisor, you will play a key role in guiding employees, managers and contractors in applying health and safety best practices. You will help strengthen a culture of prevention through listening, collaboration, and implementing concrete and durable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany and support teams in applying health and safety procedures, programmes and requirements.
  • Coach and advise supervisors and managers in their health and safety responsibilities to promote autonomy and integrate risk management into planning and execution of activities. -Participate in risk analyses, identification of critical controls and evaluation of their effectiveness to support proactive risk management.
  • Conduct planned field inspections and prevention activities, analyse gaps observed and support the implementation of durable corrective measures.
  • Exercise on-site leadership and influence to promote accountability and the development of a sustainable prevention culture.

About You / Requirements

  • Hold a certificate in health and safety management or a college diploma in Environment, Hygiene and Occupational Safety. Any other relevant university training will also be considered.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant health and safety experience, ideally in mining, industrial or construction environments.
  • Possess strong knowledge of applicable health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in French, both spoken and written; proficiency in English is an asset.
  • Holding the attestation to exercise the functions of a Health and Safety Coordinator (CoSS) on a construction site is an asset.
  • Completion of modular training FMTM 1-7 and holding a general explosives permit are assets.
