About the Role

UGL is seeking an experienced site based Cost Controller / Quantity Surveyor to support a major Oil & Gas project, working closely with our Perth-based and site execution teams. This role is responsible for providing commercial support, cost management, contract cost control & administration to ensure project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and within budget.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with Oil & Gas experience and a strong construction background to contribute to a high-profile project.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, measure, and validate quantities and progress claims for installed / billable items, subcontractors and suppliers claims.
• Support contract administration activities, including value of work done, variations, claims, extensions of time, and commercial correspondence.
• Monitor project performance against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks.
• Assist with invoicing evaluations, procurement activities, and subcontract management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and client requirements.
• Provide accurate and timely financial & commercial reporting to project stakeholders.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and site teams to support project delivery.
• Participate in project meetings and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
• Assist in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks.

About You / Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cost Controller / Quantity Surveyor within the Oil & Gas, construction, engineering, or resources sectors.
• Experience working on large-scale construction, heavy focus on SMP and E&I projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Cost Control, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, cost breakdown structure / control, forecasting, and project commercial management.
• Experience working with major contracts and subcontractor management.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and cost management systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced project environments and manage competing priorities.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
