Job Description

The Role

Based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, Civmec is delivering the SMPE&I package for Iluka’s Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, Australia’s first fully integrated rare earths processing facility. This landmark development involves the delivery of large-scale structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works within a complex processing environment.

As project construction continues to ramp up, we are seeking experienced Quality Leads to join the team in the following disciplines:

  • Quality Lead – Electrical
  • Quality Lead – SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping)

Working on a major greenfield construction project, you will play a key role in driving quality performance, leading inspection teams, engaging directly with the client, and supporting successful project delivery through to completion. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing quality compliance, coordinating inspection and test activities, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, client requirements and industry standards, and fostering a strong culture of quality across the project.

These positions are based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, approximately 274km north of Perth, Western Australia. Civmec offers a 2:1 DIDO roster, with all transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport, giving you the opportunity to work on a nationally significant project while enjoying a balanced roster arrangement.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate quality activities across Electrical or SMP project scopes.
  • Manage, mentor and support QC Inspectors and quality personnel on site.
  • Drive compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, ITPs and relevant industry standards.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing and quality verification activities throughout construction and commissioning.
  • Work closely with construction, completions and client teams to support successful project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the key point of contact for quality-related matters.
  • Manage non-conformances, corrective actions and quality documentation to ensure project compliance.
  • Provide leadership in quality performance, continuous improvement and quality reporting across the project.

About You

We're looking for experienced Quality professionals who thrive in a construction environment and are passionate about delivering quality outcomes.

Electrical Quality Lead

  • Electrical Licence.
  • Electrical QA/QC and completions experience.

SMP Quality Lead

  • CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 certification.
  • Experience in SMP construction, welding inspection and material traceability.

Both Roles

  • Lead Auditor qualification highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Quality Lead position.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems, inspections and testing requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
