The Opportunity

Due to division growth and expansion, Mineral Resources are looking to grow the team and are seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer who will contribute to cost-effective, timely procurement and delivery of materials and services, ensuring compliance with procurement standards. This role supports improvement initiatives alongside internal and external stakeholders, driving quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently procure goods and services to promote value-driven outcomes.
  • Ensure accuracy in purchase order data and adherence to approved standards.
  • Prevent procurement of banned or authorised items.
  • Address system queries and educate end users as necessary.
  • Maintain governance and compliance across all procurement activities.
  • Foster professional relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Prioritise workload to effectively meet business needs.
  • Timely escalation of system functionality issues to management.
  • Participate in improvement projects under leadership guidance.
  • Encourage a supportive culture that aids team member growth.
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent business requirements.

What is Required

  • Previous demonstrated experience in a Purchasing Officer role, preferably within the resources industry
  • Experience with forward purchase agreements
  • Familiarity with Coupa P2P system preferred
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, both autonomously and in a team
  • Agile thinking, ready to seize opportunities and innovate
  • A collaborative approach, supporting colleagues and valuing diversity
  • Passion and courage to tackle challenges and achieve remarkable things
