The Role
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Utilities division in Western Australia, supporting the delivery of upcoming water infrastructure projects.
In this role, you will coordinate engineering, commercial, and on-site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling matters, while supporting procurement, planning, and project documentation.
The position also involves maintaining quality and environmental compliance, implementing safe work practices, monitoring project finances, and contributing to project closeout activities. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in complex utilities projects while further developing technical and project management skills.
DIDO role on a 10:4 or 2:1 roster
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cost-effective construction methodologies and identify improvement areas.
- Track project finances, review costs vs. budget, and highlight margin impacts.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues.
- Understand project scope and identify contractual risks and opportunities.
- Prepare variations, claims, and subcontract agreements.
- Plan procurement activities, organise labour and equipment for supervisors.
- Ensure materials and services meet QA requirements.
- Develop ITPs/ITCs, monitor quality plans, and ensure compliance.
- Assess risks, implement hazard controls, and support incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety culture through pre-starts and toolbox talks.
- Review CEMP and environmental procedures before work begins.
- Maintain QA documentation, manage project closeout, and finalize defect claims.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years Project Engineering experience in the Construction Industry (Civil, Utilities, and Water Infrastructure projects highly desirable).
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels, and other stakeholders as required.
- Strong in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications.
- Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A
