Working alongside experienced project delivery teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer – NPI, you will support the delivery of infrastructure projects through all stages of the project life cycle, from planning and construction through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with Project Superintendents, Supervisors, contractors, operations and engineering teams, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting construction planning, staging and project execution activities.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and contractor documentation.
- Providing technical support to project delivery teams.
- Monitoring contractor performance, productivity, quality and compliance.
- Coordinating RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications and site instructions.
- Managing QA/QC documentation including SDRLs, MDRs, equipment registers and handover packages.
- Reviewing contractor claims, quantities and progress against scope.
- Assisting with cost control, forecasting, scheduling and project reporting.
- Participating in site inspections, safety interactions and field leadership activities.
- Supporting defect close-out, punch lists and project handover requirements.
This is a 6-month contract position operating on a 4/3 roster (Monday to Thursday) based at a mine site in Western Australia.
What you'll need to succeed
- Engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated Project Engineering experience delivering electrical and SMP (Structural, Mechanical and Piping) infrastructure projects within a mining environment.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Sound understanding of construction QA/QC processes, including SDRLs, MDRs and project handover documentation.
- Experience supporting or managing contractors on site.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Current Australian Driving Licence.
