More about the role
Bengalla is seeking an experienced Procurement/Contracts Specialist to join our Commercial Team on a fulltime, site-based, permanent basis, with a strong focus on contract drafting, negotiation, and lifecycle management.
As a Procurement/Contracts Specialist at Bengalla, you will:
- Lead contract development and negotiation, including pricing, commercial terms and conditions.
- Prepare tender documents for release, ensuring clarity, compliance, and competitiveness.
- Manage the tender process, including receipt and evaluation of submissions and preparation of recommendations to award.
- Support contract managers to meet legislative and organisational requirements, standards, and practices.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to enable collaboration and commercial outcomes.
- Provide regular updates to the Procurement & Supply Superintendent and contract owners.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract and contractor management processes, templates, and governance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Commerce, Law or Engineering preferred) and/or relevant experience in contracts & procurement.
- Experience drafting tender documentation and evaluation of submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and negotiate contract terms (e.g., risk allocation, indemnities, variations, extensions of time)
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, including verbal and written communications.
- Effective time and work management skills, keeping track of a significant quantity of contracts and maintaining orderly records throughout their lifecycle.
- A problem-solving attitude and collaborative nature in your work style.
- High competency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous exposure and experience in Mining operations is highly desirable.
